i find it quite difficult to fall asleep while listening to techno

you dont have anything chill in the songs that even makes you tired or anything

the only thing thats possible to get out of techno, is the willing to stay up, the willing to dance and rokk on until you die!

you dont have these melodic parts without no beat at all and stuff, like in trance

its in these parts you fall asleep, or when the music is some kind of a chilling melody which can only make you think of sleeping

about the mixing, yes techno is harder to mix.
1. more drums --> easier to miss the matching
2. no buildup in the beginning, and no breakdown in the end of the track (suddenly stops etc9
3. harder to cue, and making the transition flawless

the only thing that can help you improve ur skills @ mixing techno = to practice

prac prac prac prac prac
prac all day long
one day you will be paid back for all the praccing :b

Actually I'm sorry to say that I got hazy and sleepy more than once when I sat and listened to Techno (Yes in a room with loud speakers), same with House, I guess I'm not the "Monotonous" kinda guy. I like Techno but I think it's more of a party adn DJ Friendly genre than a sit at home and enjoy each track kinda genre (Most of the Tech DJs I've talked with told me that they enjoy the "Complete" package of a set than each track alone, also thanks to the fact that they hear every track a lot in order to know it well).
