If he is playing at a cafe for free, wouldn't the place get completely packed very early?

it would be PACKED of course! but i think it's open-air.
I got the idea from paulvandyk-fan's post in this thread. Don't know where the cafe is. Maybe we could still meet at Gedächtniskirche a little earlier (18:00) and go there together.
And talking about "packed"....what do you think the streets during Loveparade will be like?

Heh, I just worked it out. 7pm Friday till 8am Sunday, we'll be out partying for 37 hours (possibly a few less in between LFA and LP) and we'll be awake at least 40 hours.
Anyone know any cheap cafes? We need a lot of strong coffee midday Saturday
