Well don't take this the wrong way but if you don't really know what they're doing then there's little point in them being there. And I assume you mean the compressor and EQ are on the master channel?
It might be worth removing all the compression and EQ you have on the master channel and render the stereo output as a WAV. Before you do this you can spend as much time as possible getting the mix as good as you can get it pre mastering.
Once you've done this you have two choices. One is to send it to a professional for mastering (really not that expensive any more) or spend the next year or so learning and experimenting exactly what all those plugs do on the master channel.
I really don't mean to sound patronising but if you don't know why you need it, you don't need it.
I'm still on that learning curve and it's damn frustrationg sometimes
