im spending today gambling on football and eating turkey with the fam
So yeah, I got a little serious wit it. you guys don't really have to read it, but it feels great to write all this down.
Today I am grateful to be a productive member of society. I'm extremely proud of the fact that when people ask my mother what I'm doing these days, she doesn't have to make up lies and excuses because her son sells drugs and doesn't do shit with his life. She can proudly say that her son lives in DC and goes to school and works. I'm grateful to be sober. Every day I reflect on what it was like then and what it's like now. I'm grateful for forward progress. I'm grateful that today I have found a way to live that revolves around doing the right thing and being an honest and genuine person who says what he does and does what he says. I'm thankful that I don't make empty promises or lie about who I am or what I do. I'm grateful that my family and friends have stuck by me through thick and thin. I'm thankful that last night I was able to hang out with kids I grew up with. Adults now, who over the years have chosen not to hang out with me because I became a while drugged out hustler who chilled with gangsters and committed crimes with them. I'm grateful that my friends told me that is why they refused to speak to me and even more grateful that they are willing to be my friends again. That is what tells me that I have made progress. I'm grateful to have those friends, and a wonderful family. I'm grateful for Alcoholics Anonymous too. Not because they taught me how to stop drinking, but because they taught me how to not be such a selfish prick and how to calm down wit all my road rage, lol. They also taught me the value of doing the right thing and why helping others is so important. That's why I love that shit. It makes me not such a selfish douche.
And last but certainly not least. I AM SO FUCKING GRATEFUL FOR MUSIC!!! oh my god. Without melody, harmony, rhythm, texture, contour, tempo, dynamics, all that. without that I would truly be lost, because music has been the 1 thing in my life I have always been consistently above average at doing and also truly enjoyed. Whether it has been playing tuba and trombone, which I maintain proficiency at to this day, whether it's rapping, or DJing (i have an audition at Chi Cha lounge in DC coming up) music is like, the only thing that has helped me to keep it together. Without music I would have really lost it.
thanks for the thread Z

I will be in my apartment, with a lot of liquor, movies & video games, since I'm on call for Saturday & Sunday and didn't have the option of leaving town.
If anyone's interested, here's a dish my family always does for holidays. Requires an Angel Food Cake pan (that doesn't leak). A skillet underneath helps if so.
Noodle Ring
9 cups of noodles, cooked
3 cups of soft breadcrumbs
3 cups milk
3 cups grated cheddar cheese
¾ cups butter, melted
2¼ tsp. Salt
3/8 tsp. Pepper
Few grains paprika
9 eggs, separated
Mix noodles, breadcrumbs, milk, cheese, melted butter and seasonings. Add beaten egg YOLKS. Fold (lightly mix w/ hands) in beaten WHITES last. Thoroughly grease a ring mold and spray w/ Pam and press mixture firmly into it. Set mold in a frying pan or skillet of water and bake in moderate oven at 325 for hour and a half | how is your heart still beating?
even for once a year thats a load of cholesterol.

My Thanksgiving started on thanksgiving eve. Made a 5 hour drive down to D.C to go to Fur nightclub to go see Paul van dyk had a blast no doubt. Came home on thanksgiving went to go see some friends first in nyc. Went home and spent the rest of my evening with my family and some of my mothers friends that came over.
What im thankful for hmm well i got to be thankful for being alive and surviving the scariest effen car accident ive ever been in thats for sure( the other ppl in the other car im not sure on what there status are to be honest) all i received was a couple herniated discs and torn meniscuses in my knee and some burns on my knee. I also have to be thankful for my parents i know it may sound corny but i really am theyve helped me out alot these passed couple months especially with the incident and losing my job and stuff.
