And, of course, there is a name, too, for the economically empowered working Japanese women who know what they want: the carnivore women.

Haha. All those educated women with high expectations and aspirations running around. Absolutely terrifying!

Japanese women just can't compete with the largest porn producer in the world. Japan.

Yeah Japanese society has some very fucked parts. Hikikomori is the first thing that comes to my mind:

However, Japan also has incredibly low rates of crime, poverty and social delinquency when compared with Western nations.

I think it's because Japan's incredible societal pressure prevents people from typical delinquency but pushes them towards other strange outlets, like anime fetishism et cetera.

I honestly feel bad for Japanese kids. They're under such enormous pressure. An old family friend has been living in Japan for a few years now, teaching English. The kids are constantly working on school, getting hardly any sleep, and after school it's homework, homework, homework. After they finish school they basically are married to a corporation. They spend so much time at work, it's basically a family for them. No wonder lot's of them are getting annoyed and looking at new things.

Sounds like a World of Warcraft player..

Hikikomori (ひきこもり or 引き籠もり Hikikomori?, lit. "pulling away, being confined", i.e., "acute social withdrawal") is a Japanese term to refer to the phenomenon of reclusive individuals who have chosen to withdraw from social life, often seeking extreme degrees of isolation and confinement because of various personal and social factors in their lives.....the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare defines hikikomori as individuals who refuse to leave their parents' house, and isolate themselves from society in their homes for a period exceeding six months.
