additionally, i've shown this line to a friend of mine that works for Armani and she said the styles aren't that bad, however, there are some items that could be either taken off completely or redesigned.
i truly believe richie hawtin has no genuine interest in dropping his dj'ing career to focus on fashion/clothing, i only think he used his connections to come out with a line...hell, if i had the connections i would too who gives a crap, well, apparently, a lot of people do. |
It doesn't have to be original, you're right. I mean more like, they are marketing it as such an avant garde concept and really, it isn't. It's been done and done better. If you look at the first seasons of Y3, there are exact rip offs of the jacket, the woman's long skirt with hoodie, and other things that look completely ripped off. If this were a real design house, they would be ripped to shreds. Look at how Johnny on The Fashion Show was torn apart after he knocked off Maggie Gyllenhaal's leopard Lanvin dress, he destroyed his career and he was a contender to win. There is paying an homage and there is adapting to a style but Richie Hawtin's line knocked off a real designer, then had the chutzpah to charge more! Ha! Also the cube was mentioned, total Matrix ripoff.
