Holland all the way. This is their World Cup. England have a good chance and will win there group. The usual teams will make it, Brazil, Italy, Argentina, Spain, but I can see France not making out of there group, South Africa and Mexico I think will coming out of that group.

Nigieria and Greece would be good battle for second.

As for the USA they will make it to the next round, but will have a tough match from anybody from Group D. Germany or Ghana they will lose, but they might have a chance against Serbia or Austrailia, but they are tough as well, but beyond that No way, the USA are just not good enough in class.

Germany will make it out of there group, but might finish runners up, with Ghana or Australia finishing top, more likely Ghana. Also serbia is a really good team, so I won't count them out either.

Netherlands will win the group, with denmark or cameroon finishing second. Don't see japan making it out of this group, but wll take point from denmark or cameroon.

Italy and Paraguay will finish in that order, New Zealand and Sloviakia are just not good enough to beat Italy or Paraguay, maybe a draw out of one of them.

Brazil will finish top of their group, but I feel sorry for Ivory Coast, because they got another unfavorable group, but I really hope they can edge out Portugal, because I really don't like that team. North Korea is going to be ranked number 32 in this tornument, Group of death for Noth Korea.

Spain will show up in this group and win it easily, the battle is between Switzerland and Chile for second. Honduras will be the team that decides the runners up. If one of those teams lose to Honduras then they will not be runners up.

I agree, England didn't even qualify for the past world cup. They have the best League in the world but their national team is not all that.

I like ;
Brasil
Italia
Holland

Ok, so I agree with Ali on a lot of his projections, except honestly I can't seeing the Netherlands taking the cup, Brazil and Spain are just looking too good right now. In truth, I would actually pick England over the Dutch for a bid for the finals this time: because you can tell they've made some major improvements and their strength has grown considerably.

Group A I do believe France will pull out of into the final 16 (and not necessarily coming in first either), I don't see them going much farther than that, and I think for the other spot Mexico is the best bet, and even at that I don't see that group as being written in stone at all.

Group B Argentina takes 1st spot easily while Greece and Nigeria battle it out for second, I'm giving Greece a slight edge.

Group C England takes top spot no questions. While I've been very excited for the USA's growing abilities the Britains are looking damn good, they've worked off a lot of frustration from 2006 and their team has shown they are playing solid. Plus the World Cup factor always weighs in heavier on the performances of the European teams. My view is they will stomp out all their competition in that group pretty harshly. 2nd place I do believe however the USA will take.

Group D I think Germany has top spot, and I'm going to cast my vote for Australia coming in 2nd although it will definitely be a tough battle for them. Ghana is a bit of wild card, if they can pull off the kind of performance they were doing in 2006 (which, although I loved watching them, I think was a one-time showing), then they definitely have a shot at making it out but I like Australia's team and I really liked the kind of form they were showing in 2006.

Group E The Netherlands will slaughter everything in their way. There is no question they are an amazing team and I love watching them. What brings doubt to my mind about their ability to really make it all the way, as Ali was pitching, is they seem very prone to injury and the changes they've made to their attack, although definitely the right move in the long run, do not provide for the kind of blitzkrieg they were able pull off in UEFA 2008 and this was clearly evident in their friendly against Italy last month. As for 2nd I'm going to give it to Cameroon. Denmark was surprising in the qualifiers but I just can't see them as a world-class team. Cameroon on the other hand has been showing some really solid numbers as of late and I think the fact that this year is going to be in Africa is going to give them the morale boost they need to make it to the 2nd round.

Group F Italy has top spot easily. I am a true-blue, die hard Italian football fan and I will be the first one to say we really lucked out with this drawing. As far as my Azzurri's prospects for making it all the way, I will discuss that later. As for 2nd place, I think Paraguay's got it but honestly I don't even know enough about Slovenia or New Zealand (except that they're both really bad) to make any kind of projection as to how they'll do. I'm going to assume if anything Slovenia may have a shot at upsetting Paraguay but I think it's wishful thinking.

Group G This in my view is definitely more of a group of death than people are playing it out to be. The Ivory Coast is going to be a formidable opponent I guarantee it. They are in Africa, they have the morale boost, that and if they can figure out a solid formula to get Drogba the ball they will be deadly: he has been nothing short of nasty lately for Chelsea and is clearly one of the top 5 strikers in the world right now. Brazil will take the number 1 spot, of that I have no doubt just based on their performances as of late: Dunga has really excelled in getting them to play as a team and their on-field chemistry is almost poetic. That and their offense is stacked with some of the most deadly players in the sport, the one thing though that I really love about this team is the speed: I would vote them for having the best counterattack in football any day of the week. Honestly I'm rooting for Portugal to make it out to the 2nd round because the truth is they are nothing short of nasty too: WHEN THEY ARE ON TARGET. As long as they bring their A-game they will be a formidable force and are capable of beating the best. Honestly they don't look as exciting as they did in 2006 but I still see them as a major underachiever in soccer and I will root for them (unless they come up against my Italy in which case they can suck it lol). All in all, however I still think this group is very much in the air as to what the Ivory Coast is going to bring and how Brazil and Portugal tackle it.

Group H I don't think there should be any debate. Spain could dominate any opponent in that group with their bench if they really wanted to. They are definitely a top contender for the title this year, and I'm really excited to see what they bring to the table once they get into the second round. I'm going to assume Switzerland will make it to the next round (and go nowhere after that) and that any possible upset will come from Chile, but I do think the Swiss will end up in second.

The best thing about the World Cup is you never know who is going to just get on fire at this tournament. Look at the Ukraine and Ghana in 2006 or Korea in 2002. It's really a beautiful thing. I love to make predictions but I can definitely say you never know and I could be totally off when push comes to shove. All the strategy in the world will never prepare you for what can ultimately happen on that pitch.

By the way props to anyone who actually took the time to read this whole post. I really felt the need to state my opinion as I love soccer, but I'm looking back on it now and maybe I got a little too carried away haha.
