i tried turning into a , chime in some tips thread but meh.

i was listening to a lot of trance before i made this thread. Some of it is intentionally masked, muddy and forced, but yet huge releases.

I think thats part of it, it sounds muddy and forced but in actual fact it just the way everything sits together properly

When i listen to some of my fav tracks they sound really busy in places but yet you can still hear everything clearly - frustrating!

well lets not discuss hypothetical here, point to a record you're talking about and lets analyze it. most people don't pick boomy kicks when they have big basslines, in contrast most people don't pick short punchy kicks when they have tight toms for a bassline. they don't work together as well. most buzzy sustained basslines aren't harmonized with buzzy sustained chords. the original topic is very vague so lets clarify and i'll see if i'm any help

The 1st track sounds too cluttered during the main part.

neither of the tracks sound forced. the sounds work together well in both tracks, but the mixing & blancing is pretty awful.

The high end does seem a bit harsh/brittle, on my internet computer's speakers.

They are the speakers attached to my "internet computer" - that is, I wasn't listening on my studio monitors attached to my studio computer.

I just call my "internet computer" that because that's it's primary function in my house.
