Guess I'll go for an Ingmar Bergman movie - Whispers and cries (1972) to start with. Woody Allen talks about him a lot in his movies. That guy sure made a huge impact on him.

Woody Allen is a fucking genius. If you aren't cultured, most likely, you aren't going to understand his movies and humor because he references a shit ton of movies, artists, actors, authors, etc.

He is a huge fan of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn and Russian literature in general, which is why I like him so much, because he references them a lot in earlier films.

Also, his stand up was fucking hilarious, I wish he would have continued!
