The Mars Volta came out of it though, so it wasn't all bad.

Deloused In The Comatorium is a fucking incredible album, but I do agree. Their more recent offerings have been weaker.

Guess who produced De-loused who did not produce any other albums? None other than Rick Rubin. When he stopped producing for them, no one was left to keep Omar's artistic ego in check.

Yeah because they weren't huge before then


His point was that they weren't mainstream prior to that album, which is correct. Before that they were still at Dream Theater or Audioslave's kind of popularity level.
