i liked the layout of the Korg Zero4 with the midi controls for each channel next to the eq's for each channel. a lil cluttered, yes, but logical and intuitive. ashame they gave up on it.
closest thing to a midi mixer that's still designed "from the faders up" is the Evo4, but that only has 4 dedicated midi knobs. i know you can dual-purpose pretty much all the controls on it as midi but i like to keep it simple.
i basically like the 68's design and functionality as far as the Serato control goes, but it's clearly designed "from the features" down", which seems like kinda a sign of the times. When they tried to defend the decision by saying "well it's designed more as a club installation mixer than a performance mixer" i said, "what kind of clubs, karaoke ones or ones with dj's?", hehe..
Hopefully Serato come out with an SL4 soon so you don't need the 68 to access all 4 channels in 2.0.
