That is a very good question. Definately the 1000 no I would have thought, but what about the 900 and 2000?

Although it excites me little, I would be interested to hear if they've thought forward enough to incorporate this sort of technology.... or perhaps a firmware update may add this support over the digital bus????

as far as i know, sets in 5.1 are done by laptop only at this point. There are specialized midi controllers for this, i'll shoot off an email to someone who knows more than me on this for an answer.

All Pioneer Mixers and CDJ's are compatible with 5.1 if im not wrong, but you'll need a 5.1 -> RCA Converters, which I'll have to go buy later. Using headphones at the moment.

2.1/bass is a better setup for the home DJ like someone else suggested, the rear speakers in a 5.1 could be a problem.

Lightbulb It's not just a cable

As far as I know it's not something that a simple cable converter is going to do anything. The song itself has to be mastered in 5.1.

Even if you had a dvj-1000 that plays Dolby digital and dts in 5.1 the actual DVD disc must contain the 5.1 data.

Also notice that the dvj-1000 has the Dolby digital and dts logos on it. The cdj does not.

There is also a special mixer necesary to do this. The average Dj mixer can't mix 5.1 songs.
