And there is nothing wrong with that. There is the kind of romanticism with books as there is with records vs mp3.

Monkey see, monkey do.

if kids have too much access to technology leading to complete abandonment of physical activity.

it is the parents fault.

generally when any child is a fuck up, the answer is at home and in the parents.

if kids eat nothing but shit food, who does the groceries?

Very few kids have zero activity though. My bro still plays football, he's got a paper round, walks to school, etc. He's in perfect health (minus too much sugar, but we've all got vices)

But I agree parents have the single most important influence. Pisses me off when parents think it's schools duty to sort them out, they are 4/5 when they hit our schools, by that time the issues are already deep seated.

Shit food is unfortunately a direct consequence of convenience, really who has time to cook healthy every night? Or grab a healthy breakfast?

Jesus, you look at glycemic load or nutritional value of just about any food or ingredient in your food you can imagine and there will be stuff in there you don't wanna have.

Yeah i agree man. I was saying that what can't be stopped is the pervasive nature of tech devices to be the norm in our advanced society. So trying to cut that out of kids' lives isn't the way; like you said, if the kids are fuck ups because of dependency on video games, smart phones, etc., that's on the parents.

not having the time to prepare healthy foods is a cop out by lazy parents too. Making a salad takes less than 5 minutes. No one told the parents to buy chocolate bars instead of apples.

instead of buying a 13 year old an iphone, spend the money to enroll them in organized sports and help them build some character.

and i wouldn't call society advanced, we have actually taken a step back because no one develops any people skills anymore if all they do is communicate through a screen.

I moved out of the house just before I turned 21. My parents both worked full-time, Monday through Friday and my dad put in an extensive amount of overtime. Having said that, my dad cooked breakfast for us every day and my mom had a hot, healthy meal on the table for us every night.

Everybody can find the time for it, it's simply a matter of cutting out the pointless bullshit. Hell, having dinner together is one of the most important things that a family can do.

Look at why people uses these devices. Almost all of it is communication. They are more social now than ever, face to face contact forms at school, and as you mentioned parents too.

The healthy food cop out thing: Seriously look at you're healthy meal in more depth. Literally everything is littered with hidden stuff you don't wanna eat.
