maybe she just read your lips? I had a friend that could do that and understood conversations that were occuring from across the room...

thanks for noticing, it's a challenge and a half (understatement of the year) at Guv with all of their diff spotlights & lasers firing but the keepers are worth it..

Just a general question to nightclub photographers: Have you ever considered editing out the photos where people clearly looked fucked up? Obviously you shouldn't be expected to edit any picture someone might think they look bad in (many ppl can find something wrong in any picture they're in, when they really look fine). But something like the above picture, where it's quite obvious the girl is messed up and wouldn't want that picture posted online (especially if they aren't on TOTA and can't ask for it to be taken down), why not just take the picture out of the group? It can't be that much extra work, since you're already doing extra work to add a watermark (and possibly retouch them).

FYI this is no attack on you Kevin, your pictures are great...just a question to post to you and other nightclub photographers.

Woah, the girl on the left looks like she should be on the Jersey Shore

no worries, i wouldn't take that personally at all coz it's something i've thought about before.. i def generally try to remove photos with people blinking slash looking "not their best" but in groupshots, esp. where i don't know the partygoers, i tend to lean towards posting as many non-blurry photos up jus so the other ppl in the photos have options (i usually take multiples of ppl if they blink in one). for instance, for my Friday night parties, i'll literally know 60-80% of the ppl in the photos, and it's a bit easier for me to know whether they'll mind or not.. some ppl straight up don't care whether their photo is put up or not, some ppl take it personally because they don't know that the reason i didn't post it is coz i didn't think they looked "at their best"

i guess i generally leave it to ppl to email/Facebook me to have it removed.. i give business cards out to every group of ppl i take photos of, so it isn't that hard to reach me..

and lol, someone made a Snooki reference bout the same girl a couple weeks ago.. don't know her personally but she actually intro'd herself on Sat, and seems really nice from my brief interaction with her =)

I figured that was probably the case, but just wanted to see what your reasoning was. I definitely think that's fair. If people didn't want their picture posted, you obviously gave them a way of contacting you

nope, manual focus + full-manual settings at high iso.. only way to deal with lighting conditions that change a few times per second lol
