Madonna never had 5 consecutive #1 hit records. Anyways, I was paying homage to Madonna, because we all respect those who went before us. |
Lol.
| quote: | Most Consecutive Top 10 Hits:
Madonna holds this record with 34 (from "Like A Virgin" in 1984 to "Secret" in 1994. The run was broken by "Take A Bow" which peaked at no. 16). |
| quote: | Longest Span of Number 1 Singles:
Longest span for a female artist with solo credit is Madonna on 20 Years, 7 Months, 1 Day (from "Into The Groove", 3rd Aug 1985 to "Sorry", 4th March 2006 - ie. a total span of 1074 weeks). |
Either way, Madonna leaves a legacy that Lady Gaga could never match, just as Michael Jackson, so I would never even compare the two on the same level because without Madonna there would be no Gaga.
The only thing I credit Gaga with is for writing her own lyrics (wow) and for supporting Gay Rights which, if I were an artist, I would do the same. Apart from that I can't even give her credit for her 'style,' everyone thinks she's so FRESH yet being someone who has an extensive collection of 80's music, nothing seems to be 'new' to me about her music/style.. I suppose it's new for everyone else since they have long forgotten the 80's. Her performances are nice and I do like her music videos, however, it's not mind blowing especially in comparison to other artists like, Beyonce/Christina Aguilera who have a better voice (imho) or performances from Britney Spears, Beyonce, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Shakira.
I like Gaga but I don't like the overblown attention she's getting, I don't think it's proportional to her talent. Either way, good luck to her.
