Actually, the city roads didn't seem so bad around 10-11pm, but they were completely frozen over after midnight. The DJs and their friends were cool and enthusiastic, and the presales exceeded their expectations, but it seems like there were only 6-10 people who weren't paid to be there; everyone else stayed home due to the weather.
The event was in Purgatory, and the lighting, track selection (including both classics and newer releases), and sound were great. I enjoyed it, but the tiny turnout hurt the vibe, obviously. Thankfully it was just a dress rehearsal for a larger event, since the promoters plan to try this again some other time when the weather doesn't thwart them.
The event ended early (shortly after midnight), but this was actually very fortunate, as I would not have found a cab and might have frozen to death if I had stayed until 2am. :P
Good times, bizarre night -- should keep me satisfied until it's time for Andy Mooooor on Friday! Yeeaaaah ...
EDIT: Er, just read in the other thread that you aren't going to Andy Moor, actually. Sorry! Didn't mean to rub it in. |
Haha, glad to hear the tracks and sound system were really good. And no sweat about the Andy Moor comment. I decided to go to a third event for WMC...and I wanna make sure I got money to spend at all those parties
