LOVED the last vids of Stonceface & Terminal, Ronski Speed helped that we were THERE for it, but your vids are always appreciated because it tempts us Toronto-lovers to get our asses back up there for more!

If there was a sub-forum for videos it would have been moved. In this case I am not exactly sure what to do with it.

Think of it as a gift from the peoples of Toronto! When I record Cosmic Gate you'll prob get that vid too.
Thing is that these DJ's play all over the world and many ppl appreciate them, and I like to spread my vids around for that reason. If I didn't post them here then how else would you fine New Yorkers know about them? It's not for the venues I visit, but for the appreciation of the artist. I wish I had the time and money to visit your fine town and check out the clubs there... I'm sure there would be some awesome videos made. I would post those on the Toronto TA for the same reason I post them here.
Your video's are great but since the events did not happen here they don't have much to do with New York. When these same artists play here we obviously have own own members that take videos as well. Does that mean everytime someone takes videos it deserves it own thread...(whether they are from New York, or not) no probably not.
If people wanted to see videos relevant to events they didn't attend they could easily search for them on youtube or other video hosting sites. Since people want to turn it into an issue, I will get further input from the powers that be to see what they think should be done with your threads
I do appreciate your videos by the way, but I am however willing to venture to other sections of the site to see them if need be.

...
True enough :)
(Just for arguments sake since we're on a roll)
Another way to put it is that if someone post a video from YouTube for some DJ in, let's say, Germany. Everyone would comment if it was good/bad... whatever. If that same DJ was closer, from Chicago or Miami as an example, would the set not be welcomed because it wasn't from a far off land? Same music, same DJ... just too close for comfort? :)
Would then TA-New York or TA-Toronto or any of the other TA's ban all outside material since it wasn't from that TA's local club? Probably not... at least I don't think so.

You make a very valid point. I am sure there is some way to compromise here.
For example all of our sets are in one thread, may be we can make a video thread? Just a suggestion...but I am open to hear anything anyone has to say on the topic.
Z, you make a good point about people having their own videos but NONE of this length/production value. these are like short films, in comparison to most of us having short clips shot on a digital camera
a video thread would get cluttered and really actually LAGGY on most computers...for example, check out the electric zoo video thread i posted. after one page was filled, it got super hard to browse.

Just in case anyone is interested, you know why my vids are so long? It's because I don't have the heart (like the pros) to toss out footage that I think is awesome. I don't know about you guys, but the thing that bugs me about promo vids is that your diggin a tune then next thing you know, it switches to another tune. You start getting into the vibe of that tune and how ppl recorded are reacting and suddenly... next scene/tune. It's actually hard for me to cut a video down by 10, 15 minutes... LOL!
i feel you. even with my handheld flipshot camera when i had it, i put up event "recaps" from local nights/electric zoo, and since i don't have a youtube directors account, i had to cut my videos down to 10mins. that was a MISSION, took me days to pick the clips i wanted, and they're relatively low quality and crappily shot lol across the board. i can't imagine having really quality footage and having to slim it down
