well, 'free' as in no subscriptions, but i presume you have to buy the game.

what announcements disappointed you? tbh i know next to nothing about this game, just keeping it on the radar.

Could be completely free to buy as well, and financed by microtransactions within the game itself. That seems to be all the rage this days.

Though for a true successor to the greats who makes a game due to his love of a space sim genre you+ll just have to wait until i get on it...that is of course if you wont mind playing a game made by someone who things Stargate is awesome

haha! id be more worried by the fact that the game i have in my head requires a hundred or so developers, rather than just 1

Well in that case, lets hope that what im working on now makes me wealthy enough that i can afford to set up a proper game studio, and then we can work on what you have in your head

Wont be stargate though...i mean i love it, but only one proper fighter on any side of the conflict (X-302)...wtf is up with that, you cant make a space combat sim out of that!

I always loved the design of WC ships, especially those from WC3 and 4. The arrow was so compact it was more like a well fitting glove than a fighter, the thunderbolt VII was terrorizing in its shark paint jhob and the excalibur was just awesome!

Just that a lot of stuff that was promised in the beginning wasn't going to pan out.
Same with JGE. Can't build own stations, can't really control environments fully etc.

When you come from a game like Eve where you can literally control 100% of a part of space, being restricted to NPC stations and shit like that is just not good enough.

i spose if you're coming from an MMO background that could be an issue. me, all im really concerned about are flight physics and combat with squillions of ships.

Look if I can jump in, have a solid hour or two of fights then I'll be happy so I'll definitely check it out. Also helps we're same timezone so we try it out together.
