another vote for blue marlin - so great - go during the day because its hard to find at night and you can sit outdoors during the day - its really beautiful.

i've only had pizza at pacha but the food at the pacha hotel is solid. you can eat out by the pool and order bottles - its really nice.

there is a massive grocery store in the middle of the island - we have always done a lot of grilling. oh and milk isnt refrigerated. don't even bother.

i think everyone's eaten once at that burger king in playa den bossa. not because it's special, but because none of the restaurants around playa den bossa look or taste appealing and by the time you reach the end, well, there's burger king. we tried a cafe along the strip the day before and my buddy got sick off it.

san antonio generally has shit food as well, but a little dine-in restaurant called david's pizza on calle de madrid has some of the best pizza you will ever eat. their menu is great, your first time there you'll have trouble picking what you want. everything tastes extra good paired with an ice cold spanish cane sugar sweetened coke.

There were a couple places I've eaten that were really awesome. They're more local joints or for people "in-the-know". First was the Turkish tapas place in San Jose (I think that's the place) but you have to have a rental car to get there.

The other was a really authentic Iberican place in Ibiza town...I can't even remember the name, but it's several blocks walking into the localas neighborhood away from the marina. All i know is a I had one of the best fish ever there. It's a traditional dish of the island. I'd have to do some research to get a name, but ask around (we learned about from a Brazilian who was working in the crafts market).

Another we didn't get to eat at is a small joint that cooks up locally caught fish supposedly by the marina, but sells out of food quickly. Wanted to try it but it was too late in the evening. Again I don't know the name.

Hypersky might know what I'm talking about.

I never ate in PDB except for the free breakfast at the hotel!

Ibiza has some good wine/olives/cheese too so you could hit up the market and get yourself quite a nice lunch for the beach topped off with some Jamon...mmmm.

we had our anniversary dinner at a place called km5 cause it's mark is kilometer 5. I dont know what city it is but it was really nice. we didnt know you needed a reservation but we got there first thing(I think 7) and they sat us after telling them it was our 16th anniversary. we spent over 125 euros for our dinner but it was a special dinner. beautiful atmosphere.

Yeah KM5 was very good... I ate there a few times my last visit. An extremely cool hangout too.

Someone asked about Pacha? The food there was excellent, and you get free entrance to the club. Pricey, but worth it IMHO.

look it up. its hidden in a little cove on the beach a stones throw away from es vedra. quite possibly the best view on the island and the food & sangria are both fantastic. This was our spot



After you eat you can walk up to a spot where you can hike up to the cliffs and es vedra from this point of view. A view that any trip to ibiza should not go without.



For a more casual experience, in PDB there is a spot called Beach Palace. Right next to the Jet Apartments, Its very inexpensive and the food was quite good. The staff makes it worth the trip though.

so i rented a car...

we went to el carmen too, but we only ordered the fresh sangria, which was bomb. there are actually two seafood restaurants at cala d'hort which have the reputation for the best seafood on the island.

if you make your way to formentera, there's a really bomb seafood restaurant at the port called bellavista with outrageously good garlic butter shrimp, grilled fish, and live lobster. not cheap, but a nice experience all around.

We hiked up the cliffs at es vedra also. There was an old outpost up there. I got a similar picture of the rocks just like the one you posted. it was the background on my phone for a long time!
Beautiful spot.

We also spent alot of time at beach palace during our trip. We would stumble in there around 8 or 9am sit at the bar and order gin and tonics. The bartender would always fill up our glasses 3/4ths with gin and the rest with tonic. it made for great mornings

I second this (I totally forgot in my earlier post). Awesome seafood paella there!!!

I can't do Ibiza this year...hopefully 2011 in a finca!
