The acid sound is a bit much.

Bassline has no definition.

The drums lacks rhythm.

A bit muddy overall mix.

So the majority think its shit really. No energy, muddy,no groove, no definition, not enough stereo, and several elements that are totally shit arp, acid etc

No way... I really thought this was my best work so I clearly over rated my ability. That has to be the most demotivating thing thats happened to me in music so far.

Processing a highly structured and complex pattern of sensory input as a unified percept of "music" is probably one of the most elaborate features of the human brain.....understanding how music is perceived and how it may elicit intense sensations is far from being understood.

I think the responses are more constructive than "insert sean tyas bassline".

No I dont doubt that mate, people on here know what they are talking about and I am going to look at everything people said and try to see where I can improve the mix. I just hoped that after all I have learned I could have made something good for once.

It happens to us all, you think you have the best thing since sliced bread, passes it around only to discover its no good after all.
As time goes though, you will understand why it wasnt as good as you hoped as you progress.

Yeah I guess, learn to fail before you can succeed right?

Edit: I been thinking about the muddy thing, which has never been an issue usually when I post something. Like you seen from my other thread regarding this track I tried for the first time to layer up loads of basses like the tyas tracks. I think I have got it wrong because I just played it without the basses in cubase and the mix is ok. Then I unmuted just 2 basses and it sounded better.

I actually thought it was pretty good, I'm sure the posts here are just pointing out flaws because you're specifically looking for them, and posting nothing but those without much praise can get discouraging

Or maybe I'm full of shit and the track sucks, I'm sure at least one person here is willing to take that position. Either way I wouldn't get discouraged from the comments here, just take them for what they're worth and keep doing what you're doing.

In my opinion it should not be necessary to use more than 2 layers for the bassline.

Oh, it IS good, but it just needs a few more tweaks. I'd say it might get a release on a smaller crappier label as it is, but if you want to aim for something better, it needs a touch more work on the balance and stuff.

I'm also pretty biased against this style, so don't by any means let me get you down mate.
