Many would argue that, in a sane mind, nobody wants to die. People are brought up to 'fear death' in a sense and thinking otherwise will make you seem mentally ill. So someone going into a clinic/hospital to end their lives willfully, would be transferred to the nearest mental hospital.
For the same reason i already posted. People who think that god is the only one with the right to choose think that their opinion or morality for that matter should apply not only to them but to everyone else as well. Beliefs and opinions of people with different views on the subject are irrelevant, since they clash with what some perceive think is the only true and moral choice others can be ignored, ridiculed or attacked for their stance. Arguing morals is so easy if you're of an opinion that the only thing you need to do to win an argument is to point to a book containing the alleged irrefutable word of god.

fuck it why not, if people want to die, its their choice is it not?
The only issue I see with that is people in that state often aren't thinking properly, so we can't be sure that they do in fact want to die.

Most of us aren't terminally ill or suicidal, so the thought of choosing when to end our own lives is repulsive.

Of course it should. It's already legal in (I think) 4 states in the US.
edit: I checked, it's 3 states.

There are criteria that have to be met when someone wants to end their life. One of them being that 2 (or I think 3) doctors have to agree that the person has the capacity to make that choice.

If it was legal it would only be a matter of time before relatives of families start suing eachother. (Or has this already happened?)

I've been having this discussion with friends lately. I honestly don't see why someone who wants to die doesn't just buy a gun and do it themselves. No legal implications, guaranteed to work. Of course the only exception is people whose sickness has weakened them to the point where they cannot buy and/or operate a firearm, but aside from that, what is wrong with this approach?
