it's long and tough to follow i suppose. somebody should use the movie recommendations thread to create a list of movies that the cor emphatically recommends. some voting system or something. do it.

I watched The Godfather part 2 last night... it's one of those ultimate classics where it seems like 10 or 15 years pass without watching it, and then it's forgotten. I hadn't seen it since I was like 18. Man! Even though I've seen it before, I couldn't pull my eyes from the screen for the full 3+ hours... so fucking epic! Watching it made me realize how goddamn horrible Hollywood tripe is these days. They just don't make 'em like that anymore.

So true, and that's a great example too. Watched all 3 of them about 2 months ago, 3 nights in a row. You back to watching regular stuff the night after, and it just seems so 'meh'.

Exactly. I don't even want to go near a movie theater right now. I wish they'd put part 1 and 2 back on the big screen every few years or so.

Yeah, but they didn't exactly crank em out like that beforehand either. Quality comes along rarely, regardless of the time period.

If you're ever in a major city for any time, check the local listings. Some theaters run classics, and it's a treat
