Can't understand where this anger against trance is comming from, maybe one day I'll understand.

its a reaction to the actions that ruined trance (breakdowns, jesus-poses, supersaws, piracy, and finaly ASOT nailed the box). you see for every action theres a reaction. it happens in all great genres, they cant possible survive for more than a 10 years.

AvB is nº 1 on TA poll too, sadly, and breakdowns ruined some trance genres, uplifting trance without breakdowns miss something.

I personally quite like Trance. I don't listen to it anymore and haven't for a good few years now but i personally believe it's a stepping stone for so many people.

I'd nearly go so far as to say the majority of us used to listen to trance. Then started hearing different genres within the EDM scene which (IMO) opens your eyes to what's really out there.

For some, Trance is still something they love. Fair enough but i know way too many people who used to listen to it but wouldn't touch it with a 40ft barge pole now.

Either way, I wish techno had as many ladies as trance seems to pull at events.

i listened techno, hard trance, psytrance , happy hardcore and for me the current Trance was my discover, i love the banging stuff like Aly & Fila, Sean Tyas, Simon Patterson , Airbase which is a bit like the old trance of Joop, Alphazone ,Lost Tribe , Gouryella... not the same sounds but melodic and banging. I'm coming back to my roots again but i have to recognize that i like some of the vocal cheesy tracks, i hate myself for liking Cerf Mitiska & Jaren - Beggin' You (AvB Remix) but i do.

And yes, there are a lot of girls in Trance now (20% of the crowd but what a girls still a lot looking backwards) but it's because it's becoming so cheesy and commercial.

That's because a majority of TA does like trance and trance kids love polls since dj mag made dj polls popular to them (oh irony). They aren't that vocal, they mainly stay in the tracklist forums and fistpump on Thursdays when ASOT comes on. They post the most smilies and use the letter O a lot.

No bash on trance from this aspect (outrightly), just stating fact.

Trance will probably be on the top of polls for a while just because of this. Just let me know when you start getting emails from people like Martyn, or Raresh, or others wanting you to vote for them in dj mag

Bleep bloop bleep bloop awayyyyyyyyyy!

All kidding aside there are things to like in most if not all genres of music. The people that step into threads such as this and bash a competing genre because it gets more attention or bigger gigs are pathetic.

It's plain and simple jealousy is all it really comes down to..

The majority of people from this forum like trance because the name of the forum is TRANCEADDICT.com, ting a ling a ling a ling, not D&B-addict or houseaddict it’s TRANCEaddict. What is the point of signing up for D&B-addict and then slag off the genre? Seriously man how sad can you’re live be.

I hear what you are saying.

However please bear in mind that the majority of people on here did actually enjoy Trance at one time or another and hell - they probably still do to a degree.

They just don't enjoy listening to all the sugar coated cookie cutter pap that the big trance DJ's churn out in their sets and produce.
Trance goes beyond.......WAY BEYOND anything the big names are churning out.

People move on. On these forums here a LOT of them moved on together.
They are not interested in the name of the forums. They are interested in the content.........much like the music they listen to that requires no endorsement from anyone.

Coz trance can't offer anything new anymore. I really hope that more trance producers quit making musics and find themselves. Then i hope they come back with fresh sounds.

I live in a chrysalis of woe and perpetual malcontent. My tears are gray and have nerve endings all their own. Pill bottle insurrection, all the knives are dirty in my kitchen and my blood beckons for release.

You sir are a class A, B, & C idiot. Thank you for your time.

Probably one of the single most closed minded statements i've heard in a long time.
