I think Progressive House dj's like Steve Lawler should get more recognition, I think Prog House dj's work harder to distinguish whats a great tune, and what might sound great in a club compared a Johan Gielen(whom i love) choosing the hottest nu nrg uplifting trance tune...I think we all can do that. Tribal and Prog House has more to do with building atmospheric pressure and moods, and progressing towards a direction started from the first beat dropping, can be similarized to an opera...whereas uplifting Hi Nrg trance dj's can throw pretty any great melodic tune in anywhere they want and be consider a "God" ala Armin Van Buuren and his ASOT, theres not much gameplan to it compared to a Progressive set, which molds the crowd through its progression deeper into the set by a Danny Tenaglia or Steve Lawler. Quite a few of you responding with DJ's that are more of producers then DJ's, and have minimal great DJ work under their belt like someone replied Dj Giotto of S.H.O.K.K. That is why I chose mainly Prog House dj's, and finished up with Paul Van Dyk...he is the best Trance DJ at the moment imo, AvB does spin the hottest tunes on ASOT shows but, im looking for total package.
