I never considered Pete Tong as an artist, hes more like a guy whos there from the bigging or just have some good social skills and everyone accepts him, theres not a single track from him that i like. However i respect his opinion.
Pete Tong has launched the careers of numerous DJs and producers featured on his shows. I've always seen him as the barometer of where the music is going.
Very interesting interview, too.

Yeah, he's not a brilliant DJ, a straight-up crowd pleaser. He's more interesting as an industry figure than as an artist, which is why his views on the changing shape of the dance music industry are so much more detailed than his rudimentary answers on what he does as a DJ.
Tongy may not be the greatest dj but he sure as hell knows what is going on. Interesting read

As much as that stuff seemed like common sense summed up in 17 minutes from a guy with that much experience, it was still very accurate and educational for people who are just listening to their first EDM tunes and have zero clue about what the industry's history is. Never was very fond of him as a DJ but at least his head is still on his shoulders.

Argee on that.
Also get the impression just few people ever heard of him in most European countries. First time I heard of him was here at TA I think.

It's nice to hear him acknowledge pretty much what everyone on this board knew.
