While I'm not going to pin the tail on a specific donkey, I agree with Marc's general sentiment. These shows are ok but they are dumbed down a lot and the talking heads tend go for the oooos and ahhhs, glossing over how unlikely it really is, so they can expound on the what if...

I've noticed this, too. However smart the guy is, the episodes of Hawking's Universe I've seen don't measure up to the hype. I'd love to have the theoretical equations they're using, explained, but they only ever speak in somewhat glaring if not spectacular generalities.
