Yeah, they do have religious/special police branches that enforce the country's strict conservative views.

Kinda feel bad for the guy who went on Saudi TV not long ago to brag about how good he is with women. Ended up thrown in jail and received numerous lashes. Poor guy.

Yeah, I guess I am critical, but their way of fighting theft is a pretty dam effective one.

Take the case of one such delinquent who spent Sunday in the hoosegow after running into some upstanding citizens. Sure enough, he spotted a promising target parked behind Parvenu Computers on King Street East just west of Wellington. The SUV was in a fairly isolated spot, no one was around, and a GPS unit was on the dashboard. Besides, he had his bicycle with him to make a quick getaway if needed. What could possibly go wrong? Ed Mungal owns Parvenu Computers. He named his business after a word that meant a lot to him back in his native Trinidad: "Starting from humble stance, rising to higher social plane." The 46-year-old Stoney Creek man and his wife also own next door's Ya Man Caribbean Restaurant and catering. Being in the computer business and all, Mungal knows a thing or two about electronic gadgetry, especially surveillance systems. His high-resolution cameras -- which, by the way, are in plain sight -- capture every nook and cranny at the back of his building. "I can't believe this guy," says Mungal, pointing at surveillance video. "He looks everywhere, but he doesn't see the cameras right above his head!" Three o'clock on a sunny Sunday, and Mungal is in flip-flops doing some repairs for his tenants in the apartment above Parvenu. "Check this out, he goes around the corner to park his bike, and, look, here I come with a ladder and go up the back stairs to fix some lights." The video shows the blond would-be burglar return, pull something out of his pocket, stick it into the edge of the driver's window and pry away until the glass shatters inward, at which point he dives in himself and starts grabbing things. Twenty feet above him, Mungal hears the smash, looks over the railing, and yells, "Hey, that's my car!" The GPS purloiner decides to disappear, dashes around the corner and hops on his bike. That's when he gets the first of several unwelcome surprises. Mungal is fast. Whippet fast. He's down the stairs and around the corner with such velocity that he catches up with the man trying to speed away on his bike and knocks him flying. The blond scrambles to his feet and hightails it down the alley. That's when he gets his second surprise. Mungal isn't just whippet fast. He's cheetah fast. He catches up with the man and tackles him. They go down in the middle of Wellington Street North. Traffic screeches to a panicked halt. Mungal , by the way, weighs 130 pounds. "I used to weigh 136 pounds in college, but back then I used to lift weights." Locked in combat out in the middle of Wellington, Mungal puts the suspect into a half-nelson while yelling for people to call police. "People came over and told me they'd help me, and they dragged the guy off the road," Mungal said. "I asked them to call an ambulance because I felt like I was getting a bad asthma attack." That's when the man gets his third surprise. A tough-looking woman who told Mungal she was a kick-boxer puts the blond into a submission hold with her on his back, legs scissored around his torso and her arms around his neck squeezing off the blood flow to his brain. Fortunately, the cops show up and put him into the back of the cruiser before he passes out. "I like downtown, I'm not worried about walking around here," Mungal says. "This city has less crime than most cities. Toronto and New York, now I would be scared to walk around there at night."
