This is true... the components are better quality.

To the OP- have you thought about making some custom fader caps or perhaps modifying some 1000 fader caps to fit the 800?
That would give you more of the feel of the 1000 that you seek, and not too hard to do.

It's not the feel of the 1000 I'm after I just like the faders more. That and my channel 2 broke so I have to do something regardless. I'd prefer not to have to send my unit in for repairs as I am actively using it.

You dont need to send it in for repair...its a 3 min job to replace the fader once you have it.
Take fader caps off, undo the 4 screws, remove panel, undo multiplug for the fader, undo the tiny screws holding the fader on, replace, then put back together.
All the places i use wont sell them to non authorized service people, but you can buy them here but they might be cheaper where you are:

note: MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CORRECT CHANNEL- they are not all the same faders - i found this out the first time i changed one and the muppets had sent the one for the wrong channel...

Honestly, its so easy to change- the longest wait will be for the part in the mail..

PM me if you get stuck- id be happy to talk you through it over the phone.
