i used to poor tobasco all over my chicken, then i bought "Louisiana Joe's Habanero Sauce" and it only took a few drops to feel just how hot that sauce was... I've built my tolerance to it now though

also, i've always loved that sriracha hot chili sauce !

I love spicy. Funny story is it all startd when I was quite young and I had a jar of chili oil spilt on my head by a clumsy waiter. I use so much wasabi on my sushi Put tons of spices in my rubs, marinades, and sauces. I got my girlfriend hooked on it too now

ps Stefan, the one that you had at my place is on the right

You want hot, get something from Blair's.

I wouldn't call them weak by anymeans...sure there are definately hotter hot sauces out there but I'm going for enjoyment of my foods and not wretching pain in my mouth...

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE spicy food but I rarely ever go over my "limit". As long as it's enjoyable to me then I have no problem.

Jason - how long do your chiles take to grow? The hottest one's Ive ever eaten were these tiny tiny ones that came in a bag at the chinese supermarket I went to...seriously they were the HOTTEST Ive ever had...one little nibble and I'm jumping into a pool of milk lol

Justin - thanks!! I've been looking for it for a while now ever since I tried it in your fried rice (mmm lol). What brand is it though? Theres a bunch of different "chili oils" but all I can tell off that one is that there's an old woman on it lol...

Anyways, point of this thread is not what the spiciest/hottest/flamethrowing spice/sauce is...but what are your favourites and what dishes do you eat them on!

Truly a "must have" in my kitchen at all times.

Also, I'm rarely without ancho, poblano, chipotle, and thai chili peppers on my shelf either in tried or fresh forms.

If y'all like spicy, then here's where my favourite dish is served:

Mexitaco I typically get the Enchiladas Diablos con Carne (not on the menu I know, but they'll make it for you after warning you first lol). It always leaves me with a nice sweat & my skull vibrating, but the flavour is so damn good that I've actually licked my plate when my lady isn't looking.

Be warned though, a couple people who thought they could do spicy had problems with that dish. But then again, my favourite snack is habanero sauce on crackers.

depends on the species. the Early Jalapeno is probably the quickest to harvest (about 3-4 months). the Bhut Jolokia probably takes the longest. the tiny ones that you get are the Thai Chile. yeah those are pretty hot.

I prefer cooking with spice over putting it on after.

My mom and aunts have a fuckin artilery of spicy peppers and chilis in our garden from jabeneros and various other chilli peppers.

Chop em up and cook with them and the taste is a smoother flavour and not rip your asshole off hot.

At the end of the season my mom makes a random wicked batch of sauce from all the chillis leftover before the first frosts when you have to pick everything. Boils it up, adds some other spices and DAMN it's a hot sauce! Use that for everything in marinades sauces etc.

It's stopped being a competition for me and how hot can everything be, or can you handle. I prefer taste over heat. Just because I can handle the heat, doesn't mean I should lol....

If i'm putting sauces on food, it has to be one of these just for the taste and perfect amount of heat IMO to compliment the flavour of my foods.

This is the shit!

Anyone from England would remember this... one of the tastiest blends of heat and flavour IMO. When I was in England, loved putting this on cheese toast and various pies! You can get it here now to, but it's not the same

And IF I had to pick a generic or normal one, i've never liked Tobasco, to much straigh heat, not enough taste...it was never hot, just almost annoying. I prefer Franks RedHot over tobasco myself.

I love putting hotsauce on ghetto white people frozen food! :P

I prefer to use straight red chilli powder. It just adds heat, without changing the flavour of the food. Most hot sauces suck, because they are based on vinegar/Tabasco sauce.
