well what I do with my single mp3's (not full vinyls etc) is just put them into one big folder and when I want to listen to my newest ones I, "arrange icons by date" so newsest mp3's come first

I don't want to sort any further, I don't like having to think too much about where a track is @ when I want to find it.

Okay Im really sad I spent ages last week sorting mine out and I've still got more to do but his is how I got mine done

Folder for Cd's/Livesets
Inside that folder I got a folder with each Artists name and then inside that folder are all the Mp3's

Folder for Single Tracks
Then I got a folder for each letter of the alphabet and if I have a tune by Ferry Corsten if would be in the "F" fodler and so on

I also got a folder for stuff that I'm currently DL'ing and once it gets to 700MB then I burn a data CD and sort them into the folders mentioned above

SAD, but I can find my shit easy peasy now, and when i sorted everything I found a few sets that I forgot I had

oh and the above method is copyrighted so if I find you using it ur dead

I put all the filenames, id3-tags, .nfo files in a database and made a little searchmachine for it.

But ok, i am a nerd with too much time

For a while, I had my music separated according to whatever was going on at the moment:

1. Trance party
2. Chill
3. Sex
4. non-trance parties

Of course, I never hear music out of the sex folder.

Sorting MP3's

Keep them in two folders that are alphabetized by artist: one for albums and DJ mixes and the other for singles. I then make a database of my MP3's so I know which ones have been backed up onto CD-R's and which ones haven't.

Each different genre. But for trance I have them all in one folder unless their brand new, in which case they are spread into like 5 different folders in random places lol.
