Sound quality on this clip sounds pretty good. Could be the camera to get. Has aperture and shutter priority too.

Battle of the Sonys vs Canons!

This is w290 with low light at 720p

when there is just way too much going on it does tend to have bigger pixels a little. but then the original mp4 on my computer plays just fine. sometimes the upload to youtube takes much of the quality away.

i would go with any of the higher end canon sd models or panasonic lumix.

i use a sony, its decent w/ video, a little dark...it takes horrible pictures IMO. canon or panasonic!

I'm trying to figure out what camera was used for this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CETHJkYh8Mg&fmt=18

It's not 720 quality, but the audio actually having bass is pretty hot (instead of simply removing the bass like most good cameras do). No response to my comment inquiring yet, however. And maybe an HD version exists.

It might be a professional and expensive camera.. not sure. If so, then it won't really be an option for me, but I'd love to find out regardless

Than why don't you ask Minaya. He's on this board.

I've been happy with my Panasonic. I have a Panasonic ZR3 right now. It's not as small as the Canons but it's still very pocket-able. I would have liked to get the ZS7 because it records audio in stereo but it seems a little big to have in your pocket all night. You might want to also check out the Sony HX5V. I heard conflicting things about the Sony though. Some people say it works good in low light and some say it's always too dark compared to the Panasonic ZS7. The Sony records in 1080i compared to the 720p of the Panasonics but it still seemed a little big for me to carry around so that's why I went with the Panasonic ZR3.

You might want to wait and check out the Samsung TL350 when it comes out. I don't know the quality of the video but it will record in 1080p and it looks pretty compact.

Here's some videos I took with the Panasonic. You can change the res to 720. I didn't know how to set the res when you paste it? ->

I zoom in around 2:00

WOW. That's fantastic, trance_seeker! Thanks so much for sharing. I may just give that camera a shot.
