I woudnt hold up ashley to any standard here, as the people whos actual job there is to tow cars can be just as stupid. I know of a few cases when tow workers did such a poor job that when they were lifting the car up (one of those trucks where it lifts the car not pull it up, more usable in dense city centres) the whatdoyoucallits that were holding the car up came off and the car slammed on the ground from the height of about 1,5 to 2 metres

Now, most of these cases were told to me by friends or friends of friends, but i tend to believe them as i witness personally a then new 911 Turbo fall down on the curve and it broke my heart to see the puddle of leaking fluids forming under the car The pain was slightly relieved though because i knew that the poor Porsche will get avenged since the owner was a rather bloodthirsty lawyer. Im thinking that the grandchildren of those idiots who didn't know how to do their job properly will still have to pay damages to that man.

I don't get how they would tow the car? Would they bring spare tires and put them on the car just to tow it?

LOL @ the car inspector being a massive dick head.

so tow truck companies work for free? the damage those disc brakes do to your flat bed will prolly out weigh the tow.

He had already bought them, but he was waiting for them to get delivered.

But I always thought you could walk out the store with them if you need them really bad.

That's not what I meant! I mean one tyre at a time: you ask a friend to help you out, load them in your friend's car...

... is it really infeasible? I've never had that happen to me, and I've never bought a single tyre/wheel in my life.

I was just playing

I don't think it's infeasible at all. A possible issue could be getting the wheels/tyres you actually WANT, rather than just any old wheels/tyres. Any old wheels/tyres means there's a pretty big chance you'll have to spring for the ones you want anyway, just further down the time-line.

He would have ordered OEM Renault Megane wheels (as would you in that circumstance). Adelaide isn't big enough for the Renault dealers to hold stock like that so it would have had to be couriered from Melbourne or Sydney. Hence a couple of days wait.
