Nah, what the iPad is good for is just a fraction of what the internet does. Personally it's not a part I'm interested in without the absolute portability of a smartphone.

I don't see anyone but Macophile gadjet junkies picking up an iPad any time soon, and even if they do I don't see people giving up on laptops or anywhere near everyone being wiling to have their media apple spoon fed to them.

Won't happen while steve jobs is alive.

It would mean making a deal with Adobe which he just won't do, and it's in MS's interest to keep that status quo.

Well said. I looked at an HTC HD2 and the screen on that thing is like nothing I've ever seen. It's huge for a phone but still small enough to fit in a pocket and it was lightning fast.

The ipad is nothing more than a portable-ish internet tablet. I know three women who haev bought it and they still need a proper computer to do the stuff it can't, as well as a phone.
