For some reason I read that as, we're wetting our pants with excrement."

To the OP: Perhaps your ideas received a little less than an enthusiastic reply but for what it's worth, good luck. Unfortunately, your 'tutorial' still only really covers the basics - and not really in a way which is instructive to the beginner. I think we've all seen tutorials in this forum which didn't pass the test for one reason or another and in critiquing your thread, recognized some of the former hallmarks of misleading and bogus instruction. I know that making 'tutorials' is also encouraged as a means of achieving recognition with which to market oneself.

Unfortunately, that means a lot of people who aren't necessarily qualified to be doing so are making tutorials. You might have demonstrated a template methodology with which to start a song that you might actually have success with. The real test, however, is if other people are able to use it to achieve successful results. I think this tutorial is a bit too much self-promotion on far too little substance.

First off, I would challenge your assumption that "everybody" complicates "everything". I see very little evidence to support that in EDM. We EDM producers are pretty notorious in general for trying to find the quickest and easiest way to get a task done. Second, while I agree that the technical aspect of production is far too overemphasized in dance music (often at the expense of solid musical ideas), I don't see how your boilerplate approach using very basic and canned rhythms and arrangements, or working in discrete blocks is going to solve that. But, if it works for you and you're satisfied that you've found the holy grail of production, don't let our comments dissuade you. Hopefully your example tracks will enlighten all of us.

I thought you upgraded to Sonar because that's what the cool kids who don't follow trends are using.

That's what I was trying to pass it off as.

It did pretty well as a mask for my utter lack of talent but, like over-used Super-Saws, there was only so much hiding that would accomplish.

I'm honestly confused, are you being a dick or honestly trying to pass this shit off as a tutorial? Or am I just getting trolled

Whatever one it is I don't like it.

You're not alone, Kysora - I agree 100%.

As far as the track goes, well let's just say that 11 minutes without a chord change, melody, or anything memorable or creative going on isn't my cup of tea. And, that damned hihat....ugh - make it stop!

check it out - my new mix, " simulate " created using this method. Its a solid, intense trance creation of 11min.

Of course if you are not into trance you will probably not dig it.

Listened and can see you are serious about this. Some advice, if you want to convey this as a serious tutorial you need to start by at the very least labelling the thread properly. Like "Tutorial - Trance construction kit" or something. "Sup" just looks like your saying hello. If you are trollling then, whatever.

After that some extra explaination as to what is going on in the tutorial will help, the post just reads like a statement not so much a tutorial to help others.

Sorry. That track doesn't even remotely prove a qualification to be putting up tutorials. It certainly coincided with what your tutorial prescribed but what your tutorial consisted of was cookie-cutter advice on how to make a cookie-cutter song. Being dismissive of your critics, many of whom have more talent and less arrogance, isn't boding well for your credibility.
