Yes.

Lazy cheapasses like you who want shortcuts every step of the way are what is wrong with music.

It doesn't really matter anyway. If the guy is too lazy to even do the research, he'll probably get frustrated and give up quickly. I mean a big part of production is having the motivation to figure out how to do things on your own, so if he can't even be arsed to do that, then he isn't going to get very far.

Wow, someone who's never produced before wanting input from people who have suddenly makes them lazy?

THIS is what's wrong with music, pretentious assholes who sit behind a computer judging people because that's the only way they can feel important in their otherwise meaningless lives.

Congratulations, you guys are awesome.

Ableton has an easier learning curve, and there are millions of tutorials on youtube telling you how to do everything you can wish for.

I think it really depends on what your looking for.

Straight production i would say go with Logic. Maybe demo it out or try Logic express before jumping into the full price version though.

If your gonna do mashups and maybe some DJing as well as production, def Ableton.

I used Ableton for the past 2 years and 2 months ago switched to Logic for producing. I love both. Either is a great choice.

Nothing at all wrong with wanting input, but you seem to want everything mapped out for you and then have it not cost anything. Entitlement mentality.

Okay, well if you were in a grocery store and saw some kind of food that you've never tasted before, would you want to pay $200-$500 for it, or would you rather taste it for free first?

Meh, I have no problem with people using torrents for demo purposes. But you said you wanted to "avoid the price tag," so I assumed you meant you would never buy it at all.
