maher and i were THIS close to going. it was in our plans but we decided to stay in berlin instead. sad that we missed our chance to experience the world's biggest party (at 1.4 million turnout this year)...but really thankful we didn't end up going given this nasty turn of events...we spoke to some people at club der visionaire last night who were there djing on floats. they said it was really just out of control with people bottlenecking everywhere. my mom called me in panic asking if i'd ended up attending the "stampede parade", lol needless to say, she was SO thankful that i was alive.

truly a sad, sad day for edm fans everywhere. RIP to those who lost their lives.

The love parade has been having lots of trouble in the last 10 years. I'm not sure but I think the government has to issue the organizers permits. I doubt its because the organizers want to put an end to it. Most probably the government who will laugh in there faces if they ask next year.
