the first version i heard of southern sun was the one he played on the 9 hour set, i liket hat version better than the one that was released, it sounds more full of a song for some reason, the released one sounds kind of empty |
Yeah, the orignal rip we all got our hands on was the unreleased Tiësto mix. The lyrics in that version are better, more emotional, and flow with the music far better. But did Oakie release that one? Noooo. I can just imagine the dialogue between the two:
TIESTO: This track is mindblowing! Let's keep it covered up and mysteriously drop it in sets to build anticipation until release! My mix will be the summer anthem!
OAKIE: Nah, I have a better idea. Let's tone down the lyrics, they're waaay too depressing, and change them to some uplifting happy garbage that doesn't flow with the melody. Then we'll hype the media with impunity before anyone even hears the song, and hope it becomes the next Castles In the Sky.
TIESTO: But...
OAKIE: Hello, I'm Oakenfold. I can do whatever the hell I want you Dutch maggot.
TIESTO: ::breaks a Bunkka CD in half and throws it at Paul in rage::
