Francis is a top producer who has been changing things up a bit lately and we are happy to grab these from him - they are a bit funkier and deeper, with LA's Big Bully giving the tracks a lot of personality

The release comes out on vinyl first, next week, with digital to follow in 3 weeks.

Vinyl releases are still very important, certainly not for economic reasons as making money on them is exceptionally difficult. But investing in physical, tangible medium, the one that has and always will have a cult following gives a young label extra weight.

it forces us to consider our releases and schedule more carefully. Releasing vinyl 3 or 4 weeks before digital is a necessity, to give it a better chance in the market place and to reward those few who buy it for spending that extra bit of cash by having a month-long exclusive.

As for the vinyl strategy [again], I understand that part of it, and, even though there may be no direct profit from the choice to both offer releases on vinyl and to give them exclusive release periods, as you alluded to, it gives credibility to the label and, I'd be willing to bet, has a positive impact on digital sales, in the long run. It can still be profitable, indirectly.

As someone who doesn't buy vinyl, though, I just hate waiting (or, in some cases, not having the opportunity at all) to get a hold of music I already know I want.

'Mr. Vain' reference and die.

this is great! Its all about street credit. I think it demonstrates that the label really believes in their output if they are willing to invest in a vinyl release, even though the label may only break even or lose some bucks on it.

This is out now. I have to wait till I get paid on tuesday to pick it up. The bassline in Lie To Me is so defiant. Glad to see producers making beats outside the normal template. A breath of weird, but fresh air.

Very solid sounds. Lie To Me is great. Nice quirky percussion, deep lush pads, crisp his, smooth vocals, overall a great track.

Obviously, you are releasing this early so you can rip people off for another 5 days. Haven't you seen Amazon's release date strategies? They follow announced dates much more stringently, instead of scamming their customers with exclusive early releases of music people want.
