I sense a different direction you're taking from this set and I approve. Not much else to say other than this was really solid and you better play like this tonight. Only poofier.

Hm... I actually didn't notice that when I listened back to it, but I'll check it out again. I wonder what it could be? I'm pretty sure I kept the gains consistent throughout, but sometimes Traktor screws around with it and maybe I didn't notice. Anyways glad you enjoyed, thanks for listening.

Haha, I did play quite a few of these last night. But yeah, I'm starting to get back into more melodic, less dark stuff (especially when I play out). I'm still very much into techno first and foremost, but my style in that regard doesn't really work too well at spots around Atlanta. I think my next mix will be more in the same vein as 'Rogues.'

Maybe I need an alias, lolz.

Ok, so I listened to this yesterday while at the gym, here are my thoughts:

Overall, I REALLY enjoyed this set. And Trace, I mean that in a very sincere way. Aside from a few rough transitions, this set was just so enjoyable to listen to - honestly I was surprised. I mean, I knew that it was gonna be good, because you're a good DJ and I like a lot of the artists that appear in the track list, but I was taken by surprise despite that. It just came off as a completely unpretentious mix, which was a sheer pleasure to listen to. The track selection felt incredibly fresh, and the way the tracks were sequenced within the mix itself was just perfect IMO. I love that Nikola Gala track, and I loved how well you transitioned into and out of it. Seriously, when Nightwaves mixed in to Keep Walking, I was just like "WHAT THE FUCK DUUUUDE!! THIS IS CRAAAAZY!!" and my energy level must have shot up by at least 200% (in fact that got me running so fast, I think the treadmill started to make some strange noises).

Seriously well done though. I didn't think this mix would stand out in such a big way for me, but it did. If all the transitions were executed smoothly and the mix was a little longer (would have been sweet), this would honestly be a contender for on e of the best sets I've heard this year, personally.

Wow, thanks a lot Adam. I'm really glad you enjoyed it that much, as I think you and I tend to share a lot of the same tastes. It's also nice to know that someone picked up on the overall aim of doing this one...which was, basically, to put out something refreshing to myself that would help me get back into being excited about playing music. Wasn't really sure how the reception would be, I just played tracks I was really into and a sound that reminded me of somewhere awesome I went.

I realize this isn't anywhere near perfect as far as mixing, and I guess its because I decided to do this one a bit looser without the careful calculation/planning I used in some of my previous mixes. Hopefully, with time, my on the fly-ish stuff will start sounding a little cleaner. That's probably the main thing I'm working on now, especially since I'm starting to get a few gigs here and there.

Anyways, thanks again for the awesome review. Glad you enjoyed man.
