Thanks for the feedback man. I see where you're coming from, for sure, but I guess it's more or less the result of the fact that despite wanting to organize the mix in a certain way, that isn't always possible due to tracks simply not fitting well together. I often have my ideas of how I want the mix to progress, but find them hard to execute because the tracks simply do not blend. That tends to breed alternative ideas that may not be as well constructed as the original, but end up being settled for. That being said, if I had indeed settled for anything when putting this mix together, I was generally quite happy with it. I still think the mix flows very well and while I would say that I actually agree with you on the sections comment, I am actually not averse to that in any way.

i have the same feelings about flow, generally. it's hard to get something really consistent with any kind of music. even though im not a dj, i find with time it becomes easier to flow even with whacked out genres -- dubstep fits here because unless you are mixing the wobble stuff only, the sounds and grooves are too different to fit easily. i'll look out for your future stuff, there's been serious progress since i first heard your sets some long time ago.

i don't play or particularly follow dubstep releases, so i can't comment on whether the track selection is "safe" or not, but as someone who enjoys listening to this kind of dubstep i have to say i really enjoyed these tracks. the mixing was also really good, which i imagine isn't so easy to do with this kind of music. looks like re-recording it paid off.
the only thing that stood out negatively is that the sound levels of some tracks you're mixing from/to are noticeably different, but not by much really. it's not necessarily a bad thing because it can work to your advantage sometimes, for example to transition from a lighter more ambient section of the mix to a darker, grittier one with a bang.
also, i'm not too sure whether i liked that long ambient section at the end...perhaps it might have worked better for me somewhere in the middle as a way to transition from light/dark.
good stuff, i'll be checking out your other mixes too. especially the techno/deep house one, as i'm in the process of drafting one myself. hope we didn't pick the same tracks
