Seems cool, I guess lots of mysterious dubplate/unreleased stuff that'll get released like 5 years later

Was it really necessary to put that damn Burial crackling noise all over the damn set? Do I really need to constantly be reminded of the fact that Burial is mixing, to the point where it gets distracting? Egads.

That Darkstar-track, though...wonderful stuff. Been wanting an album from these guys for a couple of years now, but on the other hand, it's good that they are taking their time making one.

Honestly doesn't surprise me one bit.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and speculate that the reason Kode said this was to quell some of the hype around Burial, and that the album is actually well under way. The guy hates being in any kind of spotlight, especially now that Burial has become so popular as dubstep for people who don't really like dubstep. This would be one way to deflect some of it.

One way out of the creative conundrum Burial is now in would be to go the way he did with Stairwell and Speedball2. Strip everything down, do away with all the samples and atmospherics, and focus on a more minimal and harder-edged album that has more of an eye on the dancefloor. Of course, this isn't gonna have him raking in cash and blogosphere hype like with Untrue, but I doubt that this really was much of a concern for him to begin with.

Could be but either way it'll take a long time until an album comes.
