I can imagine a real quirky vocal - sort of sung and spoken like this >

"woah, you cheeky muda fukker....... wut you doin with a sucka"

May sound cheesey but.........

I am inclined to agree. There is definitely a groove there, I don't know what you people are on.

To be honest i dont find it particularly good, it plays the same notes on the same pattern all the way, try switching some notes and pattern around to give it more vibe.

There may be a groove but the whole thing sounds like it's from a Nintendo game soundtrack. I just don't like that sound at all.

I might be hallucinating but I could swear that kick has reverb on it. Never add reverb to a kick that's part of the main groove. If it doesn't have reverb then it's way too boomy, it'll make the rest of the track muddy as hell once you start adding leads and other melodic elements.

That's probably also why the sidechain isn't working as well as you want - the kick never lets up long enough for the compressor to release.

People thanks for the comments, really very useful!!,,
Well it seems that some of you like it, others not that much...

I know it sounds too basic so far, Mr.Mystery. The track needs other layers to develop.

Some vocal could turn it into an interesting track, but unfortunately I am not still comfortable to work with them.

There is not reverb on the kick, I ll check it, maybe a new one could work better...

the kick sample is not good imo. i think you boosted some frequencies too much.

add more lows to bassline not to kick.

Are you talking about an 8 bit sound or something else? Did you have a certain game in mind?

the bass is pretty much taking the entire mix space. You can't hear the kick. You need to seriously eq and find space for things.

I heard a great Ferry Corsten compilation where the opening track had a bass like this that took up loads of room but it worked. He added a nice gritty synth that gradually opened so it didn't matter that the bass took so much room up.

It will need some surgical eqing and I agree the kcik is a bit lumpy and middy - work those eq's until it comes good.

While there is a groove of sorts, it sounds too rigid to really drive the track. Also need to hear it with better percussion arrangements to really tell how the loop will groove as a whole.

I don't like the synth sound for the bass at all but thats just me.

Maybe look at adding a touch of release to the amp envelope of the bass. It might just help on some of those notes to flow a bit better and sound a little less rigid. Of course the bass needs to be toned down first before you even think about increasing the release time.
