Since I don't party nearly as much as I use to it's pretty rare that I go see a dj I've never heard of before. That being said I go see a dj who I want to experience live... experience their presence; the way the dj, club, and crowd all interact with one another, and to hear his/her sound on some big ass speakers.

And I go to get my dance on

SO many reasons! The main ones for me are usually set flow/mixing/track selection and definitely the time spent with friends (it's not as fun dancing alone!). Sometimes a particular dj's ability to produce also gets me really revved up to see them, because I'll likely get the opportunity to hear some of those tracks live in a club! Oh, and it definitely doesn't hurt to see someone crack a smile behind the decks! Most importantly, can he/she make me never want to stop dancing?!

i am honestly over seeing a specific DJ for the name. i go for the party.

if i think a certain DJ can make a party happen, i will go.

i honestly don't care who they are.

it happens that the more popular DJs bring a better party, for example if 50 of my friends want to go that means it will be a good party. you can interchange the name of any DJ.

the venue also has to add to it.

if we talking international headliners i would usually decide to see a particular dj based on my liking of their production.

i usually go to listen to the style of music i like and i would usually have expectations on what dj plays based on what he/she produces

It used to be like this

and still occassionally does happen that way, but it's more like Skipper's method to the madness now.

In the end...

Hey Sketch, isn't this the kind of market research feedback we get paid for in some way? You masterminding a ballistic meltdown of a party? If so, I want a comp. Seriously though, it was a good idea to put this question out there to help all the aspiring DJs/promoters/venue owners in the scene. Cheers.
