Review: Got there at 845 since doors were to open at 9pm. Well that didnt happen since the ID scanner wasnt working so doors open at 945. kind of annoying but oh well, it was a nice night. by the time doors opened the line was down the block! i got in and got my free JP CD along with a classics t shirt. walked further back to the room and was blown away! JP really went all out on the decor. 2 massive stages (1 for him with a plasma infront of him and a 30 foot LED screen above him & 1 other stage for the performances)
Roseland filled up pretty quickly and by 12 the place was jammed!! the floor was just an absolute sea of people and looked incredible from a higher viewpoint. JP was fuckin on point alllll night!! just an insane set. Some classics he dropped to just give out a few were deep dark jungle, hynotized, like a prayer (the crowd just erupted when he dropped the refrain), GTI, elements, all this time (sung live by sylver which was absolutely epic!!) and so many more it would take too long to keep going.
just an incredible vibe throughout the whole venue and no BS from what i saw the entire night. The first live performance was the dominican dummer PABLITO that played the black n white festival as well and he fuckin ripped shit up on his drum set. incredible to see live!! that man has some serious talent! The next performance was a violinist on stilts doing an intro to a song which was played beautifully. and then around 530 or so was the live performance from Sylver singing "all this time" to the crowd which was just so moving. thats my favorite classic and to finally see sylver perform it live was an incredible experience!!
Classics was everything i thought it would be and more!! truly an incredible event and by far the best JP event ive ever attended. he really takes you back to the old days with this set but at the same time gets sooooo dark n dirty in the mixture as well. already cant wait for next years classics event and i really hope he keeps it at roseland. just a perfect venue for an event of this magnitude and the review on JPs page shows you just how much everyone truly enjoyed the night.
and he certainly spared no expense on the sound!!! 24 tweeters hanging from the ceiling and stacks of subs. the bass just pounded through your body in that room and was so clear at the same time. and it was great to see so many old school factory videos played during some of the classics to take your mind back to those days and older parties hes done at pacha and other venues around nyc.
btw with the free CD he gave out he actually took it back a ways with some tech trance on the cd!! was realy cool to hear and overall a great CD!!
