MC's

I have only been to two MC'ed events and both of them were to house or DnB music.
I don't think Trance and MC'ing would go well together, but then again I've never heard it.

I think MC'ing can really work a crowd and gets everyone pumped sometimes. Mc Sweat from Vancouver did an excellent job at 'A Night To Remember'

Peace,

it's true that an MC goes a lot better with jungle ... sometimes even hardhouse ...

but it's the same thing as with a DJ - a good MC can enhance the party while a bad one can totally kill the vibe. The only reason why there isn't that many good MCs out there is probably since not that many people are MCing in the first place ... so naturally there will be less good ones.

argh.. well, here's my story of MC hatred.. i was walking in the 24 hour hike (a charity thing our school holds to see how far we can walk in 24 hours and to raise money).. and anyway, i recently recorded Sander Kleinenberg - Live at Impulz 2000 to an MD and me and 3 friends were walking along in the bush at around 4am... im lost in the music and Sander's set was nearly finished and then all of a sudden this fucking bitch (the "MC") and starts yelling out "Sanderrrrrr Kleinenbeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg" over and over... i start screaming and yelling and my friends have a listen to it and as soon as she starts they all fucken crack up and are yelling "FUCKING BITCH" in the middle of nowhere with me =)..... she was so OFF-tone it wasn't funny and she thought she was doing good... MC'S ARE NOT NEEDED AND I WILL CARRY THIS ARGUEMENT TO THE GRAVE I TELL YOU!!!!!!

ARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmm, pointyDC what you just described isn't an MC just some drunk chick trying (emphasis on trying) to make atmosphere (and failing miserably ... hahaha). Try getting a live jungle set with a a real MC going off, may I suggest MC GQ ... you'll be converted.

Trance MC's are tolerable at best, most of the time they can really ruin a performance... jungle on the other hand tends to go much better with MCing.
