I can honestly say that I don't like the first Transport that much. Transport 5 is where it's at.

Oakenfold could have mixed that cd better if he stopped the track & played the next one... The worst Bedrock CD has much better mixing then whats on tranceport

I agree 100%

Tranceport served as a stepping stone for many into trance.
Those who bought the album at the time of its release felt the magic of the cd much more than say someone who just got into trance in 2002 and downloaded the cd off a hub.

Of course as someone who listened to the album and compare it to today's standards, I still hold it in high regard. Thing is now, I, myself have moved on into more deeper sounds. I'd probably think that those same people who did buy tranceport1 at that time probably dont listen to trance anymore and are now into some other more deeper sounds or electro ala digweed.

That's probably a blind prediction and a whole different subject/thread.

For me:

Chris Fortier - Bedrock 3 (mostly due to the well-crafted and mixed CD2)

Trendroid - Transport 6 (very dirty and groovy all the way through both discs, with the no-filler tracklisting keeping things on top)

Honorable mentions:

Jimmy Van M - Bedrock 2 (CD1 is the definite keeper, CD2, well isn't anything to write home about)

Max Graham - Transport 4 (there are some killer tracks for sure, but the flow and overall track selection is terribly weak at many points throughout both discs which really drags the whole compilation down)

Yeah its sooo bad that it some how became the staple by which people compare all trance CDs against

Tranceport 1 for life. I'll get burried with it if i could.

I have tranceport 1-5. 1-4 are all awesome. Each with their own flavour. I also have the first bedrock cd, and its great. I listened to the EM that Diggers did that year to promote it, and just had to get the cd.

Bedrock came out with some ace CDs, Digweed's first was ace, Van M's was deep, Creamer and K's was dirty as feck among others but Tranceport 1 was what got me into EDM heavily so I'll still put that first. Who cares if Oakie pressed stop or play, no
