whaaaaat.

ya, i'm going again next spring. last year was my first time. here were my expenses.

flight: roundtrip for 320$CAD all included. (booked approx. 6 weeks prior to departure)

hotel: i stayed with maher, sultan & ned. it was 50$USD per person, per night. so, for 6 nights, i paid 300$USD. the hotel we stayed at was a 4 star, called the south beach plaza hotel (located at 14th & collins; prime area during WMC)

everything else: approx. 700$USD (food, booze...i didn't do any drugs while i was there so i wouldn't know what pills & powders cost down there)

i should mention...i didn't attend any of the crazy 'big' overrated parties (ultrafest, etc) but i went to some sick events...get physical warehouse party, shelborne dj mag party just to name a few. and mansion for sasha and john 6 hour back to back dj set. god that was epic.

ya, drinks inside clubs are expensive (approx, 15$USD for a 3 ounce grey goose with perrier)...but their drinks are so strong, all you rly need is to predrink and get like 3 drinks at the club.

on the other hand, whenever i went to hotel parties and not clubs, you can sneak in a mickey of vodka or whatever without a problem. i wasn't frisked once. that's mainly how i saved money on booze.

food...maher and i had an insane surf & turf supper (10 oz. steak, shrimps, scallops, etc...) for like...40$USD plus tip...for both of us! not bad at all.

and fuck, booze is cheap when u buy it at the liquor store. 40 oz goose bottles at like, 30$USD. can't go wrong.

oh, and la sandwicherie is the absolute, more amazing, bestest ever sandwich/smoothie shop on collins. it's located at collins & 14th, it was right across from our hotel. we ate there EVERY day...12 inch sub with whatever you want on it plus a 16 oz smoothie for like 10$USD. it's open until 5am everyday. then they reopen at 11am, just enough time to re-stock and go again.

can't go wrong.

u just hafta be somewhat reasonable when you're down there to save money, that's all. if you're gonna be buying bottles in clubs then ya, screw the 2K paskal mentioned...you'll need more like 5K, ha.

i went with 1700$USD & came back with just over 800$USD so there ya go i spent between 700-900$USD while i was there (cabs, food, booze).

its extremely do-able.
