As per going to a big-name/expensive gradute school:

Depends how much money/job security/chances of employment are. I have a masters degree from a private university, have a great paying job, and I am *still* fuming at the amount of money I have to dish out every month for my college loans. It actually sickens me, as it is nearly what I pay in rent.

Unless you are going into a profession that really likes to see a nametag (ie: law, etc....) going to private graduate school is a complete waste of money. I could have went public, got the same exact job, got paid the same......but paid half as much for my loans every month.

Yes, its sounds pretty to have a big name on my degree, but I am only 3 years removed from grad school and I could give a shit anymore about the name......

Well, now that you put it that way, I rescind my earlier comment.

Syracuse is good for sports-related broadcasting and communications jobs, but their student paper is unimpressive.

Ah yes, thats one of my most important criteria when evaluating whether a school will be good for me or not.
