Sorry, I'm sure Logic rocks, but I'm quite happy with Sonar and my PC.

Such a shame - I've never quite figured out how to get the sonar interface to tell me what the fuck I'm looking at!

btw, and chance you could post your findings of the Fathead 2 mic - I'd love to hear what you think of it and whether it matches what i hear....

a lot of people say the interface is confusing but when i picked up sonar 8.5 it seemed pretty logical (no pun intended) to me. lol.

Cheers Dave for your input. I think I'll take a look at the demo.

The reason I got looking at it is I'm doing a collab with a friend and he uses it. I'm on ableton.

But the GUI does look very nice.

Can this take a audio sample and slice it to midi. Like what ableton can do.

That's Sonar Score Editor - the little orange dots are notes and the the timeline is circular for some reason. The little box at the bottom is the key/time signature, tempo, etc. Yeah, it sucks.

Seriously, though, I agree with TaylorR - I don't understand why so many people think that Sonar's interface is confusing. Maybe Sonar users are just extremely brilliant?

I've been too busy with other things over the last few weeks and haven't been doing much recording, but I've tried it out twice on some scratch tracks with two different vocalists (using my OneQ as a preamp) and the results were pretty good. I just found a great deal on an ISA One a few days ago and it should be here in time for some sessions that I've got lined up next week, so I'll be able to post some thoughts and samples after that.

Not that I know of, but TBH I've never tried. I know that you can right-click on any REX file and tell it to send the file to SampleOne (S1's sampler) and it will automatically map it out. But, AFAIK the file has to be converted to REX format beforehand.
