U know what ur right i remember seeing youtube videos w people using the 4d and dx with traktor. Most people i c live r using traktor w cdjs/tts. And most people i c using virtual are using little midi controllers. I use serato and thought traktor was exactly same thing. Guess its more versatile. Id love to see a turntablist using virtual dj (wout being sponsored by them).

So blake what r u gonna buy to dj w?

recent traktor systems are using a 2khz sine wave signal, with one of the channels being 90° off in order to determine the spinning direction. there's also some amplitude modulation going on to transfer a timecode.

try and search the traktor homepage. they have the timecode cds available for download as uncompressed wave files somewhere.

there's no best software just get a decent mixer with midi function and all of them work the same, traktor is cool but the key lock function doesn't work well for me, i have a bad processor and this can be the reason but at 2% i start hearing a lot of distortion on the key.

i think the point is that they want to use a cdj or tt as a controller? if you wanted something else then there are dosens of midicontrollers to choose from.
